Rush Processing Requests

Some entries in the Library Catalog are for items that we have recently ordered or that we have not yet cataloged and processed. These materials are not immediately available for checkout.

As with Recall Requests, UWF faculty, students and staff are able to request that these items be rush-processed and held for them.

You place a request for an item through the title's Holdings display:

[Book holdings record]

In the example above, you will notice that the Item Status for Unmasking Administrative Evil is "In Process." If you wanted to request that this book be rush-processed, you would just click on the Request link to the left of the item information. (This utility requires that you sign-in with your Nautilus Card or Library Access Number if you have not already done so.) You will then be presented with the screen below:

[Hold Request screen]

Select the library where you'd like the material to be held for you. Use the second Period of Interest field to indicate the date by which you need the material. (Leave the first date as today's date.) Note that you would enter 20040920 to specify September 20, 2004. Then click the Go button.

[Hold request confirmation]

You will be taken to the Full Record display for the item. A note at the top of the display will indicate that your request has been registered.

You can check the status of requests that you have already submitted by connecting to the Your Account screen and clicking on the Hold requests link.
